Ongoing research at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Weslaco work toward sustainability and productivity of sugarcane, energy cane, industrial hemp and oilseed crops. Researchers at Weslaco focus on stress tolerance and resistance, development of crops with improved performance and biomass; the introgression of exotic germplasm and the application of molecular techniques in plant breeding.
